Does Your Vehicle Have a Secret Warranty?

Secret Warranties and Service Bulletins—
Don't Pay for Repairs If You Don't Have To

When a manufacturer realizes that a part has a high failure rate, it sometimes implements what's known as a secret warranty. It will tell its new car dealers that it will pay for repairs for that part or problems related to that part. Even after expiry of the original warranty!

But the manufacturer and the dealer don't tell owners of cars with that part about this secret warranty, which is also known as a service campaign or goodwill adjustment.

You can learn about possible secret warranties for your vehicle by contacting The Center for Auto Safety at (202) 328-7700. Or send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to:

The Center for Auto Safety
Suite 410
2001 S Street NW
Washington DC 20009-1160

In your letter, list your make, model and year and describe the problems you're having with your vehicle.

Why put up with a recurring problem if you don't have to? Use a secret warranty to get it fixed right.
